“Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.” – OSCAR B. WILDE
Yes. The session fee covers the photographer’s time to shoot your session and process the images for your order session. However, each session includes a print credit that will be applied to your print order total.
We currently do not have a merchant account. In order to keep our pricing options affordable to everyone, our prices do not account for the fees involved with merchant accounts and credit card transactions. We can accept cash or check.
We are available for portrait sessions Monday through Friday starting in February and ending November 1st. Most of our sessions occur 2-3 hours before sunset. This is the best most flattering light. We are able to shoot early mornings or sunrise as well, but evening is most ideal for light. If the weather is a bit overcast the day of your session we may be able to start an hour or two earlier due to light availability.
If there is rain or threat of inclimate weather, we will re-schedule your session date on the closest available date to your original session date. Client(s) make the final decision on going through with the shoot or re-scheduling. We can still shoot if the day is just overcast. An overcast day can actually make for beautiful lighting, especially when there are dramatic clouds. The softer light is beautiful on skin versus the harsh contrast sometimes created on bright sunny days.
Most importantly, you should be “you.” We always tell our clients, “Be you, and kick it up a notch.” You can wear jeans and a t-shirt, but we don’t recommend the jeans or t-shirt that you have worn a million times to the point that the color is worn and dingy. Wear your best jeans and a nice crisp t-shirt if you decide to go that direction. You put your best foot forward for special events in life and that is what will ensure a successful senior session as well. It’s your time to shine; your moment to feel great about who you are and where you are going! Choose outfits that are classic and timeless. You can reference our website and blog to get ideas of what to wear. Pinterest is a great resource. We have a board on our Pinterest Page You can also visit the following two websites for clothing and location ideas/inspiration. – http:///seniorstyleguide.com – http://seniorologie.com Our goal is never to copy, but to use these resources as inspiration. – Guys…jeans and a CRISP (notice the caps) button down shirt with rolled up sleeves is always a win! This is the best outfit for guys especially guys who are not into the outfit selection process. Here are a few other suggestions for the guys: CRISP T-shirt with jeans, sport jacket and jeans with un-tucked shirt, peacoats in cooler weather, sweater over button up shirt with collar, fitted slacks button up and bow-tie; varsity sweater; flannel shirt, corduroy pants, see JCrew for great ideas on layering. You can get these looks by combining items from your closet or shopping the great deals at places like TJMax or the Tanger Outlets. Shorts are an “okay” option. If you choose shorts for your session, be sure to bring a pair of jeans as well. Shorts can make it difficult to create different poses and don’t always look as polished as jeans, cords, or slacks. We also do not recommend cargo pants for this same reason. Feel free to call us with questions. – Girls should avoid low scooping necklines. Be tasteful in your selection of skirts, shorts, and dresses. If clothing is too short, it limits the types of poses we are able to create tastefully. If you choose a dress that is backless or strapless, please wear a strapless or “stick on” undergarment. There is nothing more frustrating than when we have to constantly be focusing on adjusting or tucking straps to avoid undergarments that were not made to be worn with the particular top. We just want to focus on making beautiful images…not wardrobe malfunctions. Remember that today’s trends are just that…today. Be sure to choose at least one outfit that will be timeless. As cheesy as it sounds, remember this…”Beautiful” not “Sexy” because beautiful is always “in.”

Cancellation and re-scheduling policies are described there as well. We require this online signature and cash or check to reserve your session date. Retainer fees are non-refundable. Yes. However, we can discuss plans over the phone or in person depending on how our schedules sync up. It is very important to us to get to talk to each of our seniors first hand to find out their interests, style, etc. We will also talk about outfit suggestions, and location ideas. This step may seem unimportant, but it is the step that can separate a great session from a mediocre session.
After your session we will schedule your order session. You will be able to view your proofs for a maximum of five before the session so that you have time to narrow down your favorite images. Your order session can be re-scheduled, but your proofs will only be available online for the five days prior to the original order session date. This policy helps us to ensure reasonable turn around times for all our clients’ sessions and orders. Thank you for helping us to run an efficient business!
